Pints with your Pooch!
You may have heard, Rhode Island is home to some amazing breweries, many of which welcome your pup to cozy up to the bar right along with you!
Some of our favorites are:
Whalers – Nestled inside a large mill space, this brewery is super dog friendly…and everyone know that dogs make the ultimate wing man/woman. Located at 1174 Kingstown Rd., Wakefield, RI.
Revival Brewing – (call ahead) This RI brewery has recently moved into a larger location and their outdoor patio is the perfect spot to share a pint with your best pooch! Located at 505 Atwood Ave., Cranston, RI.
Foolproof Brewing Company – If you’re in the city with your pup and need a cold brew, don’t miss this great brewery that welcomes your dog in their outdoor patio. Located at 241 Grotto Avenue | Pawtucket, RI.

Doggie Day Tripping
Don’t wait until it’s hot and crowded to visit some of the amazing islands within a stone’s throw of the RI coast. Newport (technically an island) loves dogs! You can hop the Seastreak Ferry out of Providence and bring your best friend along. Dogs are welcome onboard many trips, but they must be kept on the outdoor decks with a leash. Small dogs in a carrier can be brought inside the vessel. Our top pick for the ultimate day trip is Block Island, where most beaches and hikes are dog friendly, along with outdoor restaurants and many of the shops! Just hop on the Block Island Ferry and be prepared to run into other doggie day trippers on board! Dogs are invited both inside and on deck with the traditional ferry and deck side only on the Hi-Speed Ferry.

Pinot With Your Poodle!
You don’t need to leave your best friend behind when you’re sipping, swirling, and touring these great Rhode Island wineries:
Greenvale Vineyards in Portsmouth, RI is incredibly pet friendly and welcomes leashed, friendly dogs to take part in wine tastings, (inside) as well as tours of the Vineyard daily at 2pm through December, (weather permiting.) They also have live jazz on Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm, which can be heard throughout the grounds.
Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard in Little Compton, RI allows leashed dogs to walk the grape fields with their owners and relax on the many outdoor seating areas, however dogs are not allowed in any of the indoor spaces.

Polo
If you think your dog can refrain from barking at the horses, the Polo Club plays every Saturday from June through September at Glen Farm and leashed dogs as well as tailgate picnics are welcome. Polo at Newport

Portsmouth, RI. www.nptpolo.com

Movie Night
The couch isn’t the only place you can cuddle up with the pup and watch a movie! Take in a movie at the Rustic Tri Vue Drive-In located in Smithfield, RI. The Rustic loves having dogs who are friendly, non-agressive and leashed. They have a designated dog walking area between screens 2 and 3. Please clean up after them!
Another dog friendly outdoor option is Movies On The Block – every Thursday in September at dusk in downcity Providence, your dog is invited to sit with you in the grassy area to enjoy their weekly feature.
Note: A new location for 2019 will be announced soon at www.moviesontheblock.com

Beach Bummin’
Relax on the beach at Camp Cronin in Pt. Judith – while many RI beaches are dog friendly in the evenings after Labor Day. We love Camp Cronin for its year round dog friendliness at any time of day. This beach is protected from heavy surf and boasts some of the most beautiful sunsets Rhode Island has to offer.

Shop Till You Drop At Your Local Farmers Market
Hope Street Farmers Market takes place every Saturday, 9am to 1pm and Wednesdays, 3pm to 6pm now through October at Lippitt Park in Providence. This market is always filled with pups shopping, laying in the grass with their owners or grabbing a locally baked dog treat at Jack’s Snacks booth • www.hopestreetmarket.com
Some other great markets in Rhode Island include Coastal Growers Farmers Market at Historic Casey Farm, Saunderstown. Saturdays through October 25th, 8:30am – 12:30pm • www.coastalmarket.org and Narragansett Farmers Market at Fisherman’s Memorial State Park, Sundays 9:00am to 1:00pm through October 25th • www.dem.state.ri.us/events
